Each year at the Spring Training Conference & Membership meeting, APTAC recognizes those individuals, projects and centers that have done outstanding work with clients, for the APTAC organization, or for the procurement profession in general. There are currently four Member Recognition Awards:
Betty McDonald Outstanding Member Achievement Award
Betty McDonald was a founder and the first president of APTAC, then known as AGMAS (Association of Government Marketing Assistance Specialists). This award, named in her honor, is meant to reflect a significant contribution and deep commitment not just to the procurement profession, but to the APTAC organization and its members.
Outstanding Project Award
The Outstanding Project Award is meant to recognize an accomplishment that stands out from the usual conference, event or other activity that all PTACs organize and undertake. Such a project should benefit all PTAC members and/or serve as a model for other PTACs to emulate.
Economic Impact AwardThe Economic Impact Award is meant to recognize a PTAC that has fostered significant economic impact through direct and acknowledged assistance to a PTAC client business(es) in obtaining government contracts and the creation and retention of jobs.
Human Impact Award
The Human Impact Award is meant to recognize a PTAC that has made a positive contribution to a PTAC client business(es) or to the community, going above and beyond the normal PTAC duties and making a difference in the lives of others and in the communities we call home, and reminding us all that our successes are not always measured in dollars and cents.
Individual procurement professionals and Member Organizations are the backbone of APTAC and as such need to be recognized for excellence. The APTAC Code of Ethics sets forth the expected behavior of its membership and these awards will recognize those individuals and organizations that embody APTAC ideals.
Nominations will be judged by the Awards & Recognition Committee prior to each annual spring conference. Nominations are sought for individuals, projects, and centers.
