Salon D&E Unlocking GSA Schedules Sue Coates, Arkansas PTAC In this workshop, PTACers will learn how to teach clients the complex and confusing process to compile a proposal for GSA Federal Acquisition Service Multiple Award Schedule contract. Instructional materials will be provided that PTAC counselors can use to explain some peculiarities in the solicitation documents, with worksheets clients can use to compile portions of their proposals. Because every Schedule is different, PTACers need to be aware of the different GSA Service Centers, which participants will work on in breakout sessions. The focus of the workshop will be on how to help clients, rather than on content of the solicitations. 5:30pm – 6:30pm New Member Orientation MONDAY, October 6th 2008

Potomac Ballroom U.S. Representative- TBD 9:15am – 10:00am Working With Your Area Congressional Representatives Potomac Ballroom Keith Morrison, Vice President, Van Scoyc Associates As the APTAC Legislative Liaison, Keith Morrison will provide members with a comprehensive update on Congressional actions regarding PTAP and PTAP budget, hints on best ways for PTACs to educate their Congressional offices about their services, elections forecasts for White House, Senate, and House and APTAC challenges and opportunities with new administration and new congress in 2009.

The United States Air Force (USAF) initiative, “Installation Acquisition Transformation (IAT)”, is a restructuring of the USAF Contracting Organizations. The IAT will allow the USAF to take advantage of strategic sourcing for installation level requirements, leverage buying power and more effectively use resources across the enterprise. The USAF 71 buying organizations will be reduced to six locations: Wright-Patterson AFB, Ohio; Hampton Roads Virginia; Robins AFB, Georgia; St. Louis, Missouri; San Antonia, Texas; and Peterson AFB, Colorado. 12:00 – 1:00pm Luncheon – Luncheon Speaker

Department of Veterans Affairs Scott will discuss VA’s verification of veteran status, ownership and control of veteran owned small business as well as new initiatives at the Center for Veterans Enterprise.

The Missile Defense Agency’s mission is to develop test and prepare for deployment of a missile defense system. Using complementary interceptors, land, sea, air and space based sensors, and battle management command and control systems, the planned missile defense system will be able to engage all classes and ranges of ballistic missile threats.
