Award honors small business entrepreneurship

Brenda Gillman, president of PakSource in Rock Island, has received the 2015 Small Business of the Year Award from the Illinois Procurement Technical Assistance Center at Black Hawk College.
The regional award honors excellence in government contract execution for certifications, strategic planning, perseverance and long term implementation of plans. Gillman received the award during the 2015 Small Business Government Contracting Symposium last month at the iWireless Center, Moline.
Gillman and her husband, Rob, founded the industrial packaging business in 2001, according to the company website. Located at 690 Mill St., PakSource is a certified woman-owned business and HUBZone Business Enterprise. More…
